Cold chain is unforgiving everywhere, but ambient temperatures above 45°C compress every tolerance. A trailer door open for a few minutes at a loading bay produces a temperature rise here that would take considerably longer in a temperate climate, and a refrigeration unit that fails in traffic gives you far less time to react.
That changes what the monitoring has to do. Alerting on threshold breach alone is too late — the useful alert is the one that fires while the load can still be saved, which means watching rate of change and door state, not just absolute temperature.
